Krzysztof Hoffmann

Is a critic, translator, and adjunct at the Institute of Polish Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He has published the following books: Dubitatio. O poezji Eugeniusza Tkaczyszyna-Dyckiego (Dubitatio. On the Poetry of Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki, 2012); and the Polish translations of Julian Baggini’s Atheism. A Very Short Introduction (together with W. Szwebs, 2013) and J. Hillis Miller’s On Literature (2014); he also co-edited Umaszynowienie (Machinization, 2009) and Wiersze dla Piotra (Poems for Piotr, 2012). In 2014, he was a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan. He is secretary of Przestrzenia Teorii (Spaces of Theory), and an editor at Czas Kultury (Time of Culture).

In Marcin Sendecki’s book Opisy przyrody (Descriptions of Nature), published in 2002, there is a minimalistic poem called “Czynności” (Activities). The two-line poem is dedicated to “Świe” (do we dare decode this as short for Świetlicki?) and runs as follows: “Jaki świetny świat. (...)
