he article discusses the reception of pre-war left-wing literary criticism in Poland from the perspective of the “production of ignorance,” inspired by agnotology (sociology of ignorance). The author focuses on the connections between the post-war and the current official cultural policy, noticing gaps, silences, and omissions in the reception of the most important works of left-wing criticism. He also reflects on how specific ways of constructing historical narratives (re)produce ignorance about pre-war left-wing literary criticism in Poland.
