Małgorzata Nowak – b. 1995, PhD student at the Department of Romantic Literature at the Institute of Polish Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her research interests include: the problem of evil in Romantic literature, Polish reception of George Gordon Byron’s works, the history and criticism of literary translation. She published her work in “Pamiętnik Literacki.”

Małgorzata Nowak – ur. 1995 r., doktorantka w Zakładzie Literatury Romantyzmu Instytutu Filologii Polskiej UAM w Poznaniu. Do jej zainteresowań naukowych należą: problematyka zła w literaturze romantyzmu, polska recepcja twórczości George’a Gordona Byrona, historia oraz krytyka przekładu literackiego. Publikowała w „Pamiętniku Literackim”.

In 1924, the Polish National Library published Andrzej Tretiak’s edition of George Byron’s tales in verse. In the introduction and numerous footnotes, Tretiak explained why specific translations were selected and ranked them in terms of quality, pointing out the mistakes and the changes made by the translators.
